The power of a verbal statement, a dua changes a haram food become a halalan and thoyyibah food

Animals, especially livestock that are slaughtered in ways that are non syar’i are not suitable for consumption, these animals become “haram” for consumption by Muslims. Even though the origin of these animal substances includes animals that are lawful for consumption. For example, poultry, goats, sheep, cows, or buffaloes are not suitable for consumption because their halal status is questionable or they may even become a haram food.

Slaughter in Islamic jurisprudence or fiqih is called “dzakaat” which means good ,thoyyib. Halal animals are actually not allowed to be consumed for their meat except after being slaughtered in a syar’i way. Except for Grasshoppers and fish.

Slaughter is an activity that kill an animal to purpose using a very sharp knife. There was 3 kinds must be cut off, digestive tract, respiratory tract, and 2 major blood arteries and veins. It should not be directly decapitated or separated between the head and the body.

“Prohibited for you (animal meat) is slaughtered in the name of other than Allah, ….. and animals (wich slaughtering) in the name of other than Allah”

QS. Al-Maidah : 3

Requirement of Slaughtering a Livestock :

1/ It is advisable to face the Qibla;
• From Nafi: Indeed, Ibn Umar did not like to eat the meat of slaughtered animals without facing the Qiblah. Shaykh Abu Malik explained that facing animals towards the Qibla is not a requirement in slaughtering animals. If indeed this is a condition, surely Allah Azza wa Jalla has explained it. However it is recommended.

2/ The person who slaughters is an Muslim, Adult, Male , healthy in physically and mentally.

3/ Dua, Bismillahi wallahu akkbar
In accordance with the Word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala in the Qur’an Surah Al An’am: 118 : “Then eat the animals that were named when Allah slaughtered them”

4/ Using a very sharp knife or any sharp tool. Apart from nails and teeth.
Bones and teeth are not allowed based on the proposition, Hadith Rofi bin Khodij :

“”Everything that flows blood and is called the name of Allah when slaughtering it, you are welcome to eat, as long as what is used is not a teeth and a nails. I will tell you why those was prohibited. As for teeth, they are bones, while the nails, why is it forbidden to use them as a slaughtering tool because nails are a slaughtering tool used by Kaffir (people/residents of Habasyah/now Ethiopia)).

Sunah_sunah in animal slaughter:
